Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano joins the co-owners of New York Ravioli & Pasta Company in New Hyde Park as they celebrate their 20th Anniversary, by becoming the first Nassau retail business to step up with fundraising efforts for Sandy victims.
In celebration of the milestone, New York Ravioli owners Dave Creo and Paul Moncada will donate 20% of their retail store sales to the Fund – every Monday through Thursday in May.
Six months after superstorm Sandy barreled through our neighborhoods, destroying much in her path, Nassau residents are still struggling to rebuild their homes and lives. And, County Executive Mangano, his administration and some generous neighbors are still fighting for the funds to help them.
The Nassau Hurricane Recovery Fund collects private donations and then disburses $1,000 awards to Nassau residents hit hardest by Sandy. Run by a committee of Nassau’s Fire and Police Service chaplains, the Fund is expected to operate for months and maybe years to come.
