About 10,000 job seekers waited anxiously to attend County Executive Ed Mangano’s private sector Job Fair yesterday and meet the more than 200 employers there to offer employment.
Held at the Long Island Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Uniondale, the event hosted employers such as Prudential, Urban League and Cablevision. Positions were offered in a diverse range of areas such as tech industries, bank staffing, and various others. Veterans were granted early admission to the fair.
Since Mangano took office, he has partnered with the Nassau Industrial Development Agency and contributed to the creation and retention of over 19,000 jobs within the private sector.
“My administration is committed to helping residents find employment opportunities and improve their economic hardships,” said Mangano. “From free private sector job fairs to the job finding application – Nassau Works – that notifies job seekers of job opportunities, I am dedicated to helping residents find jobs and helping local businesses recruit residents.”
Dressed in their most professional attire, residents were given many opportunities to find a career.
