Statement from Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano on the Twelfth Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks on America

“As we mark the twelfth anniversary of the September 11th attacks on America, a tragic day that has forever altered our American history, it is important to pause and remember the nearly 3,000 people we lost that day and the many more that have perished since then in the fight against terrorism. Today, we stand together and remember the pain of those who lost mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, sons, daughters, friends and family.  We also remember the brave men and women who charged into burning buildings and charred rubble to save the lives of the innocent.  We renew our faith in democracy and the unbeatable American spirit that cannot be defeated by cowardly acts of terrorism.  As Americans, we stand united.  We believe in freedom and democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human life.  It is these principles and our resolve that is the foundation of our great nation.  May God bring comfort to the families of the victims of 9/11 this day, and may He always bless the United States of America.”
