The Nassau Veterans Services Agency is on pace to secure a record breaking $10 million in cash awards for Veteran constituents in the 2013-2014 budget year, Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano announced recently.
County veterans officials this year also successfully lobbied and received $300,000 for the Nassau County PFC Dwyer PTSD Counseling Program. And the County has partnered with ASR International- to retrain returning veterans for critical market jobs in finance, information technology, safety, construction, manufacturing, inspection services and quality assurance.
In other agency business, Veterans’ officials successfully fundraised over $25,000 for the first Brick 26 Challenge event and welcomed the first display of the 911- Wall Of Remembrance at Eisenhower Park this summer.
