The speech – an invitation-only event beginning at 7pm – will be delivered at The SPACE at Westbury, on Post Avenue – and will be televised live on various news stations.
The SPACE – which was reborn from the former Westbury Theater –opened last Fall, with assistance from the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA), which allowed the languishing site to be redeveloped into a 25,000-square-foot, 1,500 seat theatre.
The theatre is central to the revitalization of the Village’s downtown and has so far created at least 30 full-time jobs.
The SPACE is just one of dozens of businesses the Mangano administration has encouraged to relocate or expand here in Nassau County, creating thousands of jobs and stimulating the local economy.
In July 2013, the Nassau IDA approved a financial assistance package with developers of The SPACE, for the $1.9 million project. Development at the site had been delayed several years.
The 19 members of the Nassau County Legislature will host the event as a special meeting of the governing body.
