Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano honored the members of Nassau County’s Auxiliary Police Force Tuesday, thanking the members for volunteering their time to keep the residents of Nassau County safe. Mangano also presented awards for hours and years of service, promotions, and retirements, at the ceremony at Police Headquarters in Mineola.
“Since 1941, our Auxiliary police have tackled this difficult but important job which demands the utmost efficiency and watchfulness from each officer,” County Executive Mangano said. “During times of crisis, such as Superstorm Sandy, our Auxiliary police are on the front line making sure that our residents are safe. Each of you go out across our great county to maintain the order and security of Nassau County and that is one of the most important jobs a person could have.”
