Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, County Legislator Michael Venditto and other local officials joined security executives today to announce new safety and security measures for school districts, local governments and private organizations – and, to break ground on a new Global Command Center that serves as a central hub for the measures.
Massapequa-based IntraLogic, a security service and solution company that has security systems set up all over Long Island, will build a 17,000 square foot state-of-the art center at 511 Ocean Avenue in Massapequa as a central location to monitor their clientele. It’s part of a $2 million expansion project.
The company already works with Nassau BOCES to provide the Nassau County Police Department with live access to camera feeds and digitalized floors plans from participating school districts.
“Terrible tragedies such as Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown have left many families, administrators and faculty rightly concerned about school safety,” County Executive Mangano said. “While we hope to never face such a situation, residents should know that Nassau County is leading the nation with new measures to protect our children.”
Available from IntraLogic, a new “ONE BUTTON LOCKDOWN” system automates the process of locking down a school and notifying the police, staff, and students. IntraLogic will be manufacturing the new ONE BUTTON LOCKDOWN in this new state of the art facility and distributing and selling the system to schools across the nation.
IntraLogic officials said they are are able to stay here, and expand, in part because the Nassau County IDA. IntraLogic employs 32 people and will be creating an additional 13 permanent jobs in Nassau County through this $2 million dollar expansion project.
