Owners of Bonefish Grill – a nationwide chain of fresh seafood restaurants – opened its newest location in Rockville Centre this past Monday. Representatives from County Executive Mangano’s business development team were on hand to open the new restaurant.
The Bonefish Grill’s first Long Island location replaces the long-shuttered and abandoned movie theater at 340 Sunrise Highway. The theater (Rockville Centre Cinema) closed in January 2006, and after years of standing empty, it was demolished in May 2013. The Rockville Centre Village Board approved the construction of Bonefish Grill in April 2013, after a nearly year-long application process. The new RVC Bonefish Grill location not only eliminates a vacant building that has been a blight to the community, but creates employment opportunities for around 125 people, locally.
With more than 100 locations, in 34 states, Bonefish Grill specializes in market fresh fish cooked over a wood-burning grill and their signature appetizers including their famous Bang Bang Shrimp, Prince Edward Island Mussels Josephine and “American Style” and Kobe Beef Burgers just to name a few.
