Sixty-four law enforcement officers from Nassau County were recognized and honored on Monday night by Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano at a special promotion ceremony held at Bethpage High School.
County Executive Mangano began by thanking the officers for their continued bravery and dedication to ensuring the safety of all Nassau County residents.
“In Nassau County, we are fortunate to have the best and the bravest police force in the nation,” said Mangano. “During times of crisis our police officers are on the front line making sure that order is kept and that our residents are safe.”
The County Executive led the honored officers in the reciting of the Oath of Office and presented each with their promotion and designation certificates.
Mangano specially recognized Chief of Detectives Kevin P. Smith and Deputy Chief Christopher J. Cleary for achieving the highest ranks within the Nassau County Police Department.
After recognizing the honorees, Mangano said he looks forward to working with each of newly promoted officers to continue fulfilling the shared mission of making Nassau County the safest large county in the nation.
