County Executive Ed Mangano will host a Senior Solutions Seminar tomorrow at the Glen Cove Senior Center and will be joined by Mayor Reggie Spinello, State Senator Carl Marcellino and U.S. Congressman Steve Israel, State Assemblyman Charles Lavine and County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton.
The event is open to all Glen Cove area seniors and will run from 10-11:30am on Tuesday, August 19th.
Senior citizens will receive information on everything from taxes, life-saving automobile accident procedures and how to better prepare for super storms – all this from an array of information, programs and services from government, not-for-profits, and other organizations.
“Since taking office as County Executive, I have made it my mission to do all that I can to make Nassau County more affordable for our seniors and young families,” County Executive Mangano said. “I have never allowed a County property tax hike and if I have it my way, there will not be one for years to come. While I work tirelessly to protect your wallet, I also make sure my administration is delivering the services you pay for and deserve.”
Mangano will be informing attendees about Nassau’s successful Yellow Dot Program – which can assist in lifesaving measures for victims of automobile accidents. Having A Yellow Dot in the rear window of a vehicle informs First Responders arriving at the scene of an accident that vital information is contained in the glove compartment of the vehicle. This information can help assist medical and emergency personnel during the first critical minutes after an accident.
The County Executive will also be giving essential information and steps to help better prepare for storms, such as Superstorm Sandy.
Space for the event is limited, attendance for this event will be RSVP only. Please confirm your attendance by contacting Harrison Feuer at (516)505-1448 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
