Mineola, NY- Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and the Long Island Blood Center invite residents to support a blood drive and save a life. The blood drive will take place on Tuesday, September 13th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 240 Old Country Road in Mineola.
County Executive Mangano stated, “A single blood donation may help save the lives of three people, and I encourage all who are in good health to consider giving back this fall.”
Donating blood takes approximately one hour. Donors must be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be 16 years of age or older (with parental permission). Donors age 76 and older may donate blood if they meet all donor criteria and present a physician’s letter allowing them to donate. No appointment necessary.
