Mangano: Open House to Be Held at NYCB LIVE’s New Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Uniondale, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced that NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum presented by New York Community Bank, will host an Open House on Saturday, April 8, from 11:30am-1:30pm, to provide the public with an opportunity to see highlights of the 416,000 square foot venue, which has just completed a $165 million renovation.

“I encourage any and all interested residents to come to the open house and view firsthand the transformation of the Coliseum into a world class entertainment destination,” said County Executive Mangano.  “Significant upgrades have been made, including the installation of new seats which were manufactured in the USA.  The Coliseum will be a great modern entertainment venue for Long Islanders and has already attracted world-class acts, including Billy Joel, Marc Anthony, Bruno Mars and Stevie Nicks.”

During the event, visitors can participate in family friendly activities throughout the concourse, including face painting, games, contests and a photo booth. Long Island’s only classic rock radio station 102.3 WBAB and Top 40 station 106.1 BLI will play music during the event. Guests can also take part in Hospital for Special Surgery’s Performance Challenge, in which fans will receive a pedometer to track their steps during the event, and those with the most steps can win prizes.

Additionally, all visitors will be able to sample food and non-alcoholic beverages from the venue’s new Long Island Taste program, overseen by Levy Restaurants. The program will feature famous local flavors ranging from new and buzz-worthy restaurants, to traditional institutions that are synonymous with Long Island.

The event is open to the public, but guests must RSVP through NYCBLIVE.com or Ticketmaster.com.
